SID has been in the construction industry since the 1980s where he worked for a company doing waterproofing works and hoisting materials in HDB projects during his school holidays as his father find that he got nothing to do during these times.

During the 1990s when construction sector is blooming in Singapore. HDB flats project is build all around Singapore. Projects is awarded to main contractors. The main contractors will then sub-out part of work to their sub-contractor which they are require to be quoted depending on their trade.

In this period, he work full-time as a site-supervisor in-charge of tiling and waterproofing work in a sub-contractor company that tender work from the main contractor. He is responsible for supervisory and schedule tiling works; also help to handover to HDB for inspection.

His scope of work is to schedule hoisting of materials, waterproofing works, wall and floor tilings works. Weekly meeting by the main contractor that required him to report the status of works. He also need to co-operate with other sub-contractor, before and after the work completed.

He also need to attend to water leakage cases found inside units where waterproofing work is done after handover to HDB as part of his job scope. Waterproofing work that come with warranty. Detection for water seepage is to be carry out before rectification work and method statements to be proposed. The company closed it operation in 2005.

From 2005, he worked as a sales engineer in a computer company that sell computer hardware; mostly rugged computer for military uses. It is in this period, he learn the skill of selling and how computer works. He is required to learnt how to communication with his clients and explain the features of each hardwares. He resigned on 2008 when he found out sales work is not suitable for him.

In 2008, he returned to construction industry working as a full-time maintenance supervisor in the main contractor company. He is responsible for rectification for water leakage that fall under warranty. It is here that he encounter all type water leakages and learnt what is water leakage detection about and how repair work is done. During this period, he also learnt to manage workers that work under his care. He resigned on 2012 for further his career.

Later in 2012, he is employed by a company that do water seepage detection because of his previous work experience with the main contractor. In this company, he put what he learnt from his previous work experience and apply it to his current work.

In 2013, SID Solutions Pte Ltd is found.
