Step 3: Diversion

Diversion occur when the leakage is unstoppable. These can be found in underground water table or sometime due to design issue. Underground water table can be found where house is built in the lowest valley; near high ground. Design issue may be found in expansion joint within floor found inside building; basement carpark.

Cavity wall is a double wall or false wall with space between 2 walls. Cavity wall can be found mostly in underground carpark where water from leakage wall is being channel to discharge pipe behind these wall. Cavity wall also can be found in external wall where it insulated heat from the sun.

Expansion joints are movement joint design to absorb vibration. They used to hold difference parts together. These can be found where structure and brick wall joint, flooring or wall inside large building, bridges, walkway and etc. These joints could not waterproof.

Metal tray is installed under expansion joint to collect water and channel to the nearest discharge outlet in basement carpark for most leakage solution.

PU grouting would not be suitable to be used as joints are moveable, it required pressure to pump chemical into it.
