Water In, Water Out
The foundation of water leakage detection is to understand water IN and water OUT, in computer term call GIGO – Garbage in, Garbage out. This is the basic understanding; There is always a IN with a OUT. Any object or material that can absorb water within it will need to find ways to drain out the water inside it.
Water IN is known as the positive side of leakage. It is the origin source of leakage where water is found in it core. These core can be pipes from water supply, discharge, sump, Rain Water Down Pipe (RWDP), waste pipe and etc. These core can also be found external like roof, water, wall and etc.
Water OUT is known as the negative side of leakage. It is the result where water is found on part of surface on wall, ceiling, pipe, flooring, ect. These can be detected through visual or by equipments. Surface may be damp with water droplets, stained mark, paddle of water, water bubbles, etc. Equipment like water moisture meter used to measure water contain with the object or material.
Water IN is found at the top where cause of leakage is found and water OUT is the resulted affected area is found. It a TOP to BOTTOM where is water always flow downward. It a BOTTOM-UP detection process because this is where the origin is found.
